The BATTERY 2030+ community is welcoming young scientists in a wide range of disciplines to apply to take part in a connected workshop taking place across six European cities simultaneously.
The YSE will engage young scientists (no more than 7 years after Ph.D.) to express their ideas about the future battery research landscape by providing input on the BATTERY 2030+ roadmap and curricula.
The YSE will be held simultaneously at six sites: Politecnico di Torino (Italy), Uppsala University (Sweden), Vrije Universiteit Brussels (Belgium), Warsaw University of Technology (Poland), Université de Picardie Jules Verne (Amiens, France) and Fraunhofer ISC (Wurzburg, Germany). These sites will be on-line connected to allow for an open and inclusive discussion – hopefully resulting in disruptive research and innovation ideas from a new generation of scientists.
By round table discussions on the future outlook of the European battery research and expectations the YSE will produce a “New Manifesto for Batteries of the Future” based on topics/foci defined during the BATTERY2030+ Annual Meeting 2024 in Grenoble by the Battery2050 Young Scientists Community:
1) Novelties in the battery area: e.g. solid-state batteries, Si-anodes, advanced lithium-ion batteries, smart functionalities, etc.
2) Sustainability, recycling, second life, circular economy, etc.
3) Industry and EU regulations, commercialization of products, sustainable production processes, etc.
Participants will be selected, by each of the six sites partaking, in order to gather a wide range of experiences and competences, both within and outside the battery field – why we are looking for e.g. battery experts, engineers, chemists, physicists, economists, medical doctors, people within all humanistic specialisations, etc. Gender equality will be taken into consideration. All costs of travels and accommodation are at the expense of the participants.
Important dates and how to apply:
– April 25th: Application deadline – please apply here
– May 15th: Announcement of participants selected
– June 3rd: The Young Scientists Event
